Welcome to Forest for Future

Who we are...

Forest for Future is a community-based organization dedicated to transforming landscapes devastated by mining and poor agricultural practices in Africa. We believe in the power of nature and community to heal and rejuvenate our environment.

By planting the right species of trees, we aim to restore the health of our soil, promote biodiversity, and create a sustainable future for generations to come.

What sets us apart

What makes us different...

We are a passionate collective of environmentalists, local community members, and volunteers who believe in the power of nature to heal itself with a little help from human hands. Our team is diverse, bringing together experts in forestry, ecology, and sustainable development, united by a common goal: to reclaim and rejuvenate land affected by murram mining.

We Educate and Involve communities

We actively engage local communities in our projects, providing education and opportunities for involvement, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility for the restored lands.

We champion land reclamation

We identify areas severely impacted by mining and/or other related human activities and work towards rehabilitating the soil and landscape through strategic tree planting.

We don't just plant any tree, but the right tree

Our team selects the right species of trees that are suited to the specific conditions of each reclamation site, ensuring a high survival rate and maximum ecological benefit.

Trees Planted

Our Goal is to restore ecological balance in natural ecosystems
Why it Matters

Why it matters so much to us and everyone...

Mining can leave behind significant environmental degradation, including soil erosion, loss of biodiversity, and reduced land productivity.

By restoring these lands, like we are doing in Ndalat, we not only improve the environment but also enhance the quality of life for local communities.

Reclaimed lands can provide resources, improve local climates, and support diverse ecosystems, creating a legacy of sustainability for future generations.

“We abuse the land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.”
